Biography

Samantha Cohen, OTD, OTR/L is a skilled Occupational Therapist at M Street Pediatric Therapy.

Prior to joining the M Street team, Sammy spent many of her younger years working with children in different jobs such as babysitting, teaching swim lessons, and working in early childhood research.

While completing her graduate studies, Sammy worked part-time as a Behavior Therapist for children 3-6 years old with varying diagnoses in a therapeutic day school. She also completed a clinical rotation at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital in their outpatient clinics, where she worked with children 0-12 years old with various diagnoses, including Autism, ADHD, Brachial Plexus injuries, orthopedic injuries, developmental delay, Cerebral Palsy, and developmental coordination disorder. She also completed a clinical experience at Shriners Children's Hospital, where she worked with children 0-21 with various medical complexities.

Sammy is passionate about taking a strengths-based approach and building on the amazing things a child can already do. She also greatly values caregiver involvement in her sessions, it is important to her to work as a team with families during sessions to ensure the progress made in therapy can continue and grow at home. She believes the best way for a child to improve is continued and repeated practice, a large reason Sammy became an OT is to help children and families reach their goals in the most fun and creative ways possible.
