Izzy Taylor is a skilled Speech Language-Pathologist at M Street Pediatric Therapy.
Izzy is passionate about using a child-led approach and believes the more fun the session, the better! She is also passionate about providing patient-centered care through learning about and from the families she serves to create a personalized plan of care. She aims to empower and uplift families by building their confidence.
Prior to joining the M Street team, Izzy worked as a nanny, fueling her interest, and later, passion for working with EI populations. While finishing her graduate studies, Izzy completed her clinicals at DePaul's Speech and Language Clinic. She had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients, including adults with disorders such as Aphasia, Dementia, and neurogenic stuttering. She also spent an additional 2 quarters working with children ranging from 5 to 13 years old. While working with the pediatric population, she supported clients with language delays, speech sound disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Izzy was a part of two separate research experiences, The Barriers to Implementing Baby-Led Weaning and The Long-Term Language Effects of NICU Stays on Premature Infants, that greatly impacted the beginning of her interest in the 0-3 population and providing family-centered, equitable services. In addition to her research, Izzy also completed an externship at the UIC Childhood Development Center where she learned about responsive feeding, how to implement AAC, and how to create a space where families feel supported, heard, and empowered.
