Biography

Dena Kontos, PT, DPT is a Physical Therapist and Social Media Manager at M Street Pediatric Therapy. 

Dena supports children of all ability levels and medical complexities in the Arlington Heights Area. She also creates content for M Street’s Social Media platforms in her role as a Social Media Manager. 

Dena has experience working in pediatric outpatient, acute care, neurologic, and orthopedic settings. Prior to graduating from Northwestern’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, Dena completed her final clinical rotation with M Street and became a full-time Physical Therapist on our team in September 2021. She has gone on to complete training in the TIMP and GMA assessments and has completed continuing education courses on pediatric gait assessment and evaluation and treatment of torticollis.  Outside of M Street, Dena has been involved in research and has co-authored two publications. She is also serving a second term as an Illinois Physical Therapy Association(IPTA )Assembly Representative. 

Dena is extremely passionate about supporting the NICU-to-Home transition, early detection of Cerebral Palsy, and supporting medically complex patients. She strives to provide evidence-based, family-centered care in a relaxed and encouraging environment. She places a focus on activities that are fun and function-based while coaching families so that they can understand and play an active role in their child’s care.
