Biography

Aracely Chavez, M.S, CCC-SLP is a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist at M Street Pediatric Therapy.

Prior to M Street, Aracely’s career has focused on various sectors of early childhood development with a special focus on working within a child’s natural environment. Aracely has previously worked as a  Family Support Worker, a  Child Development Specialist for a health organization in Chicago, and as a Lead Service Coordinator for Early Intervention of Illinois. During her time as a Service Coordinator Aracely was immediately interested in Speech services and recognized the need for bilingual providers in underserved communities, leading her to become a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Aracely’s vast clinical experiences include providing school-based services, working to collaborate with teachers and parents while developing IEP’s for children in Pre-K through 8th grade, working at Ann & Robert H.  Lurie Children’s Hospital as part of outpatient specialty teams including the Cleft Lip and Palate, Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI), and Feeding and Swallowing teams, and completing a student placement here at M Street!

Aracely is proud to be able to provide direct services in the same community in which she was born and raised. She finds it rewarding to connect with families on a cultural level by incorporating culturally relevant language models into sessions and being able to connect with parents on a 1-1 level without the need for interpreting. Being able to walk to some sessions is an added bonus!
