Since her original spotlight on easing feeding challenges at M Street Pediatric Therapy, Jessica Kronberg has continued to grow her practice in powerful ways—building on her passion for family-centered care and advancing into advocacy work that’s shaping more inclusive environments for the children and families she serves.
Evolving the Role at M Street
Over the past few years, Jessica’s work at M Street has expanded to include the development of our Home Modification and Community Consultation Program. Through close collaboration with families, she recognized a recurring theme—many of the environments children needed to access were not built with inclusion in mind.
“The passion for this really came from the families I was working with not having the same opportunities as others because the environment wasn’t accessible for them,” she shared. “That’s what inspired me to start advocating more intentionally for accessible and inclusive community spaces.”
Support That Sparks Innovation
One of the most memorable parts of her journey at M Street has been the support she's received from leadership and her peers. “What stands out to me the most is the support I have on a daily basis. I’ve always been encouraged to follow my passion and given opportunities to build new programs or spaces—even if they aren't always part of traditional therapy practice.”

Deepening Her Expertise
To complement her growing passion for accessibility, she pursued additional credentials, earning both her Executive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM) and a Home Modification Badge from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). These certifications provided in-depth knowledge on designing safer, more functional home environments, backed by evidence-based strategies.
Partnering with Families Every Step of the Way
At the heart of her practice is a deep commitment to family-centered, evidence-based care. “My goal is always to focus on goals that matter to the family and explain everything along the way,” she explained. “If a caregiver doesn’t understand why I’ve chosen a certain activity, it loses meaning. I want families to feel like they’re a part of the process—not just observing it.”
This philosophy extends to empowering caregivers through open, judgment-free conversations. By providing meaningful feedback on strategies families are already using, she fosters confidence and trust, which naturally supports carryover outside the therapy session.
“The passion for this really came from the families I was working with not having the same opportunities as others because the environment wasn’t accessible for them. That’s what inspired me to start advocating more intentionally for accessible and inclusive community spaces.”
Pushing the Field Forward
Currently, she’s involved in committees focused on inclusion and accessibility, contributing to outreach initiatives that aim to educate local programs and community organizations on inclusive design. She’s also in the early stages of launching a home modification research pilot, which reflects her continued commitment to expanding evidence-based practice in pediatric OT.
Looking ahead, she has bold and exciting aspirations. “I’d love to work with a village to create a more accessible community space—and eventually, help design a children’s museum rooted in universal design principles. Increasing awareness of occupational therapy’s role in public space design is a huge advocacy point for me.”
Words of Wisdom
To those just entering the field of pediatric occupational therapy, her advice is simple but impactful: “Don’t stop looking for the outlet that you're passionate about. Pediatric OT covers so many areas—you may just need to carve your own path. Surround yourself with people who support your goals.”
From feeding support to community transformation, her journey is a testament to the power of combining clinical care with advocacy and innovation. At M Street, we’re proud to support providers who push the boundaries of traditional therapy to ensure every child—and every family—has access to the opportunities they deserve.
